BTS has collaboration commitment from Chlorine Engineers Corp., Ltd. (CEC) for Caustic Soda and Chlorine Plants in India.

CEC is one of the leading names in the world of electrolysis industry. Established in 1973 as a joint venture between Mitsui & Co. Ltd. and Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., CEC has been fully dedicated to the development of the mercury, asbestos, diaphragm and ion-exchange membrane processes for more than three decades. CEC’s ion exchange membrane eletrolyzers are the leading production processes for chlorine and caustic soda in the world - with more than 80% of the membrane electrolyzers market in Japan, nearly 47% of that in U.S.A. and nearly 35% the world over, and are used in more than 198 electrolysis plants both at home and abroad.

CEC’s specialized know-how and great technical capabilities have grown with its comprehensive overseas network. CEC will continue the development of new technologies to make the finest products available and expand its services to meet tomorrow’s industrial needs. Recently, CEC has introduced n-BiTAC bipolar eletrolyzer, which gives the lowest power consumption and operates at high current densities even up to 8 KA.

Records speak for themselves. CEC has provided services in 38 mercury process plants (includes remodeling in plants), 19 diaphragm process plants (do not include overseas cathode cans), and over 213 membrane process plants (totaling capacity of 9.60 MMTPA) as of end of July 2006. What’s more, these services are not limited to salt brine electrolysis alone, but can also be applied to KCl, chlorate, HCl, organic and other types of electrolytic processes.

CEC offers both Mono-polar and Bipolar eletrolyzers as per Client’s requirement. CEC is the pioneer in high current density operation Bipolar electrolyzers and has been offering it for the last 13 years.

CEC started marketing n-Bitac electrolyzer since May 2005. Capacity of n-Bitac electrolyzer is 0.97 MMTPA as of July - end 2006
