An Introduction

Birla Technical Services (a  division  of  National  Engineering  Industries  Limited,  an
ISO-9001 company) is a premier Consultancy, Engineering and Project Management Organization of the C.K. Birla group.

Birla Technical Services (BTS) commenced its operations over 20 years back and initially executed large projects on turnkey basis in Metallurgy, and Process Plant sectors, independently and in partnership with global companies. With market demand, BTS has also diversified into sectors like Oil & Gas, EHV Power Distribution, Environment, Telecom, Software products, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), etc., utilizing its core strengths of engineering, project management and partnership building, through technological collaboration with specialized international companies in each area.

BTS has the capability and experience of executing projects ranging from small to very large in scope, complexity & value. Some of the larger projects include PMC for USD 5.3 billion Ajaokuta Steel project for the Govt. of Nigeria, integrated Steel Plants modernization projects of over USD 1 billion for Steel Authority of India Limited (Durgapur & Rourkela), Chlor-alkali project of over USD 20 million for Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd. (formaly Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Ltd.) - Heavy Chemical Division, etc.

BTS' organizational pattern is such that Project Execution Head/Team thereby involved right from the proposal preparation and order negotiation stage, thus fully understanding Client requirements and is thus accountable for project performance (technical as well as commercial) and is available as single point contact to the Client.
